NATURISIMO - Review: Natural beauty products
After seeing clean beauty popping up everywhere, I couldn’t wait to try it, but its hard to know where to start. Better skin barrier? Yes please. Better for the environment - great! It can be hard to tell which products really live up to these claims, as it can be easy enough for a brand to claim its clean/green/natural. This is why Naturisimo is a great place to shop as they only stock sought-after truly clean beauty brands. They call themselves ‘the destination for the consciously minded’ and even have a quiz on their website to get you matched with products that suit your needs.
I recently tried one of their starter kits - the one targeted at combination/congested skin - called the ‘Purify Starter Kit’. Each kit varies in products, therefore in value but the Purify Starter Kit is £20 with a value of £97. For that you get 6 powerful purifying products in miniature sizes (but definitely more generous than a tester).
I have to say I really enjoyed 5 out of the 6 products in the kit, which is a pretty good hit rate. When using these products you really get the feeling that they are working wonders on your skin, many of them unscented and utilising natural ingredients such as charcoal, green tea and tea tree.

Indie Lee Purifying Face Wash
This is a fab cleanser that gives you the squeaky clean feel, without over-stripping the skin. Although I have combination-oily skin, I often find products dehydrating my skin. This cleanser featuring java plum and mandarin helps dissolve sebum and clear the complexion, it leaves skin fresh, balanced and clean.
Evolve Gentle Cleansing Melt
Perfect for a first cleanse, this gel to oil cleanser does a great job at removing the initial makeup and SPF from the day. Massage it into dry skin and it melts away the impurities and keeps your skin supple, unlike micellar water and makeup wipes which strip the skin. I’ve had mixed reactions to oil-based cleansers in the past but this one is a new favourite as it doesn’t leave a film on the skin and preps the skin perfectly for the second cleanse.
Green People Anti-aging Eye Cream
Packed full of nourishing fatty acids and zero harsh ingredients, this eye cream is perfect for sensitive under eye girls! It moisturises and hydrates the under eyes, without being too heavy, which is a problem I often have with eye creams. This is one of my favourites from the kit and is definitely becoming a regular in my morning and evening skincare routine.
Antipodes Vanilla Pod Day Cream
This moisturiser smells exactly like cinnamon buns - its incredible! Sadly it was too thick and oily to work on my face but I did continue to use it on my neck and hands as I loved the smell. I think this would work well for normal - dry skin types, I don’t think its entirely suitable for clog-prone skin as I did experience a small breakout after using it.
Madara Exfoliating Oil To Milk Scrub
An oil to milk scrub, that gently exfoliates and cleanses the skin? I’m IN! I really enjoyed using this little scrub once a week for baby soft skin and renewed skin texture. The consistency takes some getting used to as it disintegrates quite quickly into the milky texture - the trick is to use it on damp skin, as opposed to dripping wet skin. I didn’t find this over-stripping and worked well on the oily and dry areas of my face, I can see this being suitable for all skin types!
ODACITE Pimples Serum Concentrate
Probably my new favourite find! This is a luxurious, deeply effective serum concentrate that works its magic to help balance oil, and rid your skin of pimples. I find it best to mix a drop or two with your evening moisturiser and take a couple of minutes to massage it into your skin. I always wake up with such even, balanced and clearer skin. It contains Black Cumin + Cajeput, which are the star ingredients that really penetrate and purify the skin whilst you sleep. This will forever be a must-have in my skincare regime from now on!
